The San Antonio Express-News reports Dorothy “Dottie” Gray of Natalia died on Aug. 5 of an overdose of the painkiller morphine and lorazepam, an anti-anxiety medication. Bexar County medical examiner records show the drugs caused complications from Gray’s stroke and led to her death.
She died the same day 35-year-old Capt. Michael Fontana was removed from patient care on suspicion that he had intentionally caused a patient’s overdose death.
Fontana was charged Monday by the Air Force with the murder of three “terminally ill” patients and with altering a medical record.
